We are well into Spring but who would have guessed with how erratic the weather has been lately – some days we get all 4 seasons in one!
On days like this in the past I’d have mornings fussing over ‘What will I wear today?’
So, I have come up with a couple of go to wardrobe items that I can mix and match with jeans and skirts to create a number of outfits that I’d love to share with you today!
#1 The Crop Jacket – This can either be a tailored style blazer or even a denim jacket. I like it when I can roll the sleeves up creating a ‘spring’ rather than winter feel to my outfit. Crop jackets look great with jeans, skirts and dresses. I usually wear a t-shirt, singlet top or cammie under it so when the weather warms up I can take my jacket off. The crop jacket is great to dress up an outfit for a corporate or evening function.
#2 The Button-Up Shirt – Light weight and great to keep you warm when a slight chill in the air. I like to wear it open and layered over a t-shirt or singlet and button it up if the weather turns cool. Brilliant to wear with jeans, skirts or cut-off denim shorts. Go with a plain white shirt or mix it up here like I have in the pic below with a vintage checked shirt for a classic casual look. On rainy days opt for boots or thongs on a sunny day.
#3 The 3/4 Sleeve – When I’m preloved fashion shopping I’m always on the look out for three-quarter sleeved tops and knits. They are a must-have in your wardrobe. 3/4 sleeved tops lend themselves well to laying with short or maxi skirts, jeans and pants. The secret is in the laying and in the colour combinations of your outfits – experiment and mix it up! In the pic below I have layered a maxi skirt (which is actually a maxi dress) under a white tee and a 3/4 sleeved knit.
Other wardrobe items I love for 4 seasons in 1 day are:
Vests
Cardigans
Denim jackets
Boots
So those are my favourite ways to dress when it’s warm and cool all in the same day.
