I have just come back from a break and over the weekend I decided to do a wardrobe declutter.
Most people when they meet me think that I must have a massive wardrobe even a walk-in over flowing with preloved purchases. In reality I have a small wardrobe space which initially I wasn’t a fan of but I have embraced keeping things simple and declutter on a regular basis.
A sneak peek into my wardrobe
With the change in season I moved my high summer clothes out (into a storage bag) and my winter clothes in. Any summer dresses or items that I didn’t wear this past season I donated. I figured if I hadn’t worn them in the past 8 months it was time to move them on.
I sorted through all my winter clothes trying out jeans for size and moving on anything that didn’t fit me properly. I declutter jackets and cardis that weren’t my style any more. I wanted everything to fit in my one wardrobe space. I donated a long formal dress to Dressed For Formal and a work suit to Dressed for Success. The rest I bagged up and donated to my local op shop.
I love having wardrobe items that mix and match easily with various outfits. Clothes for laying. I buy clothes in my colour palette and love organising them colour-coded on matching hangers – easier to locate items and calming.
Have you done a wardrobe declutter this season? Take a look and find 5 items that no longer suit you and pass them on to a friend or drop them into your local op shop.
Yours in all things preloved,
