How To Do The Day After Valentine’s Day!

On the back of Valentine’s Day you maybe feeling a mixture of emotions. Whether you are in a relationship or not the thing I have come to realise over the years that is most important is your relationship with yourself.

You may have guessed that today’s piece isn’t about fashion (you can see more of that below though 🙂 It is about sharing some words to nurture your soul.

We can only give and love others deeply when we truly love ourselves first and foremost and accept ourselves exactly as we are.

So, here’s my tips for post Valentine’s Day love. 

#1 Nurture Yourself – your love can only outflow to others when your cup is full and overflowing. So make a commitment to yourself to nurture you – your whole self – mind,  body and spirit. Go for a walk on the beach, take yourself on a lunch date, get a full body massage, toe nail paint or new haircut, start that yoga class. Book in a time and do it for yourself and those you love and care for will appreciate you so much more!

#2 Gift Yourself – seriously if there was something that you really wanted on Valentine’s Day and didn’t get go out and buy it for yourself. Don’t expect people to read your mind. Don’t think if they really loved me they’d know what to buy me. You are the expert on yourself. So, if you really wanted a certain handbag, a new bra and undie set, a bunch of flowers or a spa pamper go out and get it and enjoy!

#3 Nurture Your Friendships – We all need friends to connect with, feel supported and have fun with. Phone a friend for no other reason than to say ‘hi’ and ask how they are? Write a letter or a card – don’t text or message WRITE and post it in the mail. Do a random act of kindness for a friend like make them a meal or babysit for them.
