Spring is finally here and the weather has been amazing! It’s time to move into your Spring wardrobe.
The mornings and evenings have been a tad fresh and like me you still may want to rug up in those wintery pieces. However I came across the best Spring fashion style advice on social media last season from Sam Woods (Vibrant Concepts) and I remember each time it turns Sept 1:
‘Spring – no more fur or heavy wintery fabrics girls, time now for light layers & fresh fabrics in scarves to stay warm.’
So, here are my tips for easing into your Spring wardrobe:
#1 Time for a quick wardrobe audit and declutter – pass along any items you didn’t wear this winter or no longer fit you to your friends or donate them at your local op shop.
#2 Store away – Freshen up any wintery pieces like heavy knits, fur, woolen coats, heavy scarves, beanies and hats and pack them away in sealed bags so that they won’t end up with moth holes in them.
#3 Layers – Locate all your layer option clothing like:
- Tops with 3/4 sleeves
- Singlets and camis
- Cardis and light weight knits
- Button-up shirts
- Capri length pants or roll up jeans
- Leggings
- Crop jackets
- Light weight scarves
If you need more options, go check out your local op shop or best friend’s wardrobe 🙂 For layering I always like to wear a few layers including singlets underneath and scarves to keep comfortable until the day warms up.
#4 Colour – Lose the greys, blacks, browns and add some Spring freshness to your wardrobe with splashes of colour. It can be a simple at a coloured scarf, statement necklace or coloured strappy shoes, bag and belt.
#5 Spring outfits – Create some outfits and flat lays with your Spring wardrobe and photograph them on your phone. Then when you are needing something to wear one day and can’t decide look at your photos.
So, this week find items in your wardrobe to pass on, pack away your wintery pieces and move your Spring layers to the front of your wardrobe.
