Here’s a way to take those pieces that mean a lot to you and transform them into something so meaningful and beautiful.
In a recent declutter I came across a couple of watches I’d been gifted as a child/teenager. I didn’t want to throw them out even though they were a bit rusted and not working. So I packed them back away.
I was so excited to discover Rosie from Akatonbo and the gorgeous, eclectic jewellery pieces she makes from old watch parts. I had found a resting place for my old watches that I could enjoy and wear now instead of sitting broken in a drawer.
Rosie hand makes original pieces of unique wearable art using predominantly upcycled vintage materials such as watch pieces, dominoes, coins and books.
Her collection consists mostly of necklace pendants and more recently, the start of a men’s range including vintage watch cuff links.
How cool are these cuff links! Makes one unique gift for that nephew, brother, son, grandson, boyfriend or husband in your life!
In the next few days search in your drawers for those broken watches and bring them along to Rosie this Sunday to the Eco Chic Fashion Pop-Up to see how she can transform them into something beautiful.
Or choose a beautiful piece from her collection starting at prices $20 – $40.
