Beautiful jewellery is a simple way to add style to any spring outfit.
Whether it is on-trend costume jewellery, vintage treasures or fine jewellery – the right storage is key to ensuring your items last forever.
We want to avoid:
- Tangling – as this can damage or break our jewellery so then we can’t wear it.
- Wasting Time – trying to find the item we need for that special outfit or untangling necklaces.
- Losing Parts – like pendants or earring pairs.
Then we won’t be able to wear them, they’ll clutter up our wardrobe and be a total waste of money.
Today I’m sharing the 3 ways to store your jewellery:
#1 Compartment Containers – available in many different materials like plastic, wood or velvet covered. I sourced the one in the pic below from Howards Storage World. I like the fact that they have various sized spots – so I can store small things like fine jewellery, earrings and rings but also bangles, bracelets and brooches too. They are also stackable – I prefer to have them flat in my pull out drawers.
#2 Hanging Pocket Organiser – a simple way to store lots of things especially bangles, necklaces, beads, belts. Bonus that it hangs in your wardrobe neatly with your clothes. I like to keep things simple and use the ‘one in one out rule’ with this storage space. When I find a new piece to add to my collection I swap it with a piece I’m no longer wearing and pass it on. The pocket organiser pictured below is from Howards Storage World – I’m sure you’d find them at any good department store.
#3 Hook Organisers – this is a beautifully creative way to store mainly necklaces and bangles too. Thanks to Lauren from The Thinking Closet she has put together 25 gorgeous images and ideas for storing jewellery. I really love the recycled aspect used in these ideas – especially the garden rack! Take a look here and be inspired.
So those are my favourite ways to store jewellery.
Share this blog post with a friend who might love these storage ideas too!
PS Here’s what I’m thinking next year…..
I have a vision for a beautiful pop-up market showcasing luxurious sustainable fashion. We’re talking eco, ethical, organic, vintage and refashioned pieces.
