It is the season for preloved fashion shopping especially coming into Christmas, holidays and New Year.
Last week I went op shopping and I love it when you are casually flicking through the racks and discover high-end fashion labels for less than $5 a piece.
Before I commence any shopping trip I always find something in my wardrobe to donate – even if it is only 2 or 3 items. I find this technique of moving things on that are no longer serving me opens up the opportunity for more things that I’d like to come into my life.
So, you can image how ecstatic I was to discover Lululemon Yoga Pants and an Intimo LBD Skirt on my trip – items that had been on my Christmas wishlist.
Take a look at what else I grabbed:
Lee Riders Skinny Jeans (RRP $110) for $3
Lululemon Crop Pants (RRP $109) for $3
Peace Angel Kimono (RRP $25) for $2
Intimo LBD Skirt (RRP $140) for $4
Plus a maxi skirt, short skirt, purple jeans, tops and statement necklace all for a total of $40 a massive saving of around $500!
Last weekend was also my husband’s Christmas work party. I am a big believer of planning outfits for special functions ahead of time to avoid stress and impulse buying. I picked up this Little Black Dress (LBD) for $10 last year at a second-hand market and saved it for this special night out. I teamed it with a black clutch I already owned and some preloved David Lawrence heels for $39 from a local consignment shop. Total cost – $49!
So, next time you are out and about take the time to drop into your local op shop or check out 2nd-hand markets in your area leading up to Christmas – you never know what you might discover!
Yours in all things preloved,
